05/31/2017: One 'more' last chance? Glenn Close has agreed to an additional month of performances on Broadway, reprising her role in Sunset Boulevard as Norma Desmond, a role that earned her a Tony Award from her run in 1993-1994. This really may be your last chance to take in this historic performance in North America. Closing "afternoon" is expected to bring the house down on June 25th with a closing that only Glenn Close can deliver. David Richards, of the New York Times, wrote in 1994 that "Glenn is giving one of those legendary performances people will be talking about years from now. The actress takes breathtaking risks, venturing so far out on a limb at times that you fear it will snap. It doesn't!" Compare that to current reviews and there's still no coming up short. Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune temps us with these words: "Norma (Glenn Close) in Sunset Boulevard) is a horror show. And what's great here is that Close assumes 50 shades of that which we never want to be." - well folks, at 69, Glenn Close is far from reflecting on the dreams of youth as the regrets of maturity. Sure, we are all headed to the final curtain and we'll all have to face the music that echoes our lives along our own Sunset Boulevard, but for now, its much better to watch this freak show. Want to wet your appetite before dropping some dough on Broadway's most sought-after ticket? Then watch Sunset Boulevard, the movie, starring Gloria Swanson in the role of Norma Desmond, now that's a frickin freak show! Close does not disappoint audience members that want a true taste of the dark side of an aging hollywood actror. Click your way to some amazing tickets right here on FrontRowTickets.com - The orchestra seating is fantastic for this production as Close bellows over a 40+ pieces ensemble. There's also something haunting about seeing this musical from the birds-eye view in upper level seating. First-timers, grab an orchestra seat, second-timers, do it with an orchestra seat and then be a voyeur in the balcony. True fans will see this show over and over again. This is one of those productions you need to see more than once, no matter who you are!
