U2 looks to Announce New Album with Super Bowl Ad

U2 is planning to release their newest album in April 2014 and they will make the announcement on a commericial during the Super Bowl reports Billboard. According to the report the band is looking for brand partners for the ad.

The band has been working on the new material since wrapping up their 360 World Tour 2011. In June, bassist Adam Clayton said they have recorded an "abundance of riches” when talking about the new material. The band has been working to determine what should make the new album.“We could make three or four different records and justify that to ourselves, but to make the best record you can, you have to steer away from the ones you can make easily, we're really trying to get into territory that we're not comfortable in." Then Last month, Clayton described the new music as a "bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years."

In addition, to the upcoming album, the band plans does plan to release a single on Black Friday called “Ordinary Love.” The band recorded the single for the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The band expects to have all the new tracks from the new album done by the end of November.
