The Broncos made news headlines when the drafted quarterback Tim Tebow in the first round in 2010. Tebow’s time was short with the Broncos but he had the attention of football fans across the country.

The Broncos play their home games at the “new” Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium. This stadium was re-built across from the “old” Mile High Stadium. The original Mile High Stadium is now used as the parking lot. The new stadium was completed in 2001 and hold over 76,000 excited fans. The Denver Broncos can trace their history back to 1960, when they played in the Western division of the old American Football League (AFL). The team rose to prominence in the ‘70s with the so-called Orange Crush Defense, which played a huge role in driving the Broncos to their first Super Bowl appearance, in 1977. But it was quarterback John Elway who would lead the Broncos to their greatest successes. As the team’s QB from the 1983 through 1998 seasons, Elway steered the team to five AFC Conference championships and two Super Bowl titles (’97 and ’98). Since then, the Broncos have remained a strong team, winning two division championships while experiencing only a few losing seasons. Since 2001, the Broncos’ home games have taken place at the stadium currently known as Sports Authority Field at Mile High, located in Denver, Colorado. Over the years the Broncos have maintained one of the best home field records in the NFL, so it’s no surprise that every home game has sold out since 1970.
