    Local Assemblyman Hosting Session to Teach Illegal Immigrants How to Get Licenses

    A local assemblyman and community groups will hold an information session in Coachella Tuesday on a soon-to-be-implemented law that allows undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses. The event starts at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of Bobby Duke Middle School, 85358 Bagdad St., and will be conducted in Spanish.

    A 14-year-old girl chased her skateboard into a Coachella street and was struck by a passing car, an official said Saturday. A 911 operator got a call at 5:37 p.m. Friday about the incident at Jefferson Street and Los Mochis, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt.

    We're learning more about a 14-year-old hit by a car in Coachella Friday night, police believe she had chased her skateboard into a street moments before. It happened around 5:30 Friday night causing northbound lanes of Jackson between Avenue 48 and Avenue 50 to close for hours.

    A Coachella fast food restaurant was robbed Monday night by two Hispanic men who held sweaters over their faces. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said the suspects made off with an unknown amount of cash and are still on the run.
