The 2009 concert film recorded for the PBS concert series "Soundstage" features King, who died in May at age 89, playing the blues on his famous guitar, Lucille, with his band in Chicago.

    The 13th City of Derry Guitar Festival, which takes place August 20-23 at the North West Regional College, Londonderry, will bring the blues to town with a three-day electrical guitar course entirely dedicated to the legendary BB King. During the course, experienced local blues and rock guitarist Ted Lynch will take participants through the fundamentals of the blues structure and demonstrate how to improvise over a chord progression.

    Catfish Kray lead singer Lady Larea along with her backup singers, sisters Sharmae Diane and Chrissy Grant, rock the crowd at the Hotter Than Hell music and art festival in Lamar July 18. Headlining the Hotter than Hell Music and Arts Festival July 18, was The Catfish Kray Blues Band, that lit up the stage with a crowd-engaging performance to wrap up the festivities. In comments before the show, lead singer Lady Larea said the band had Albert Collins and B.B. King in store for the attendees.
