King, often ranked as one of modern music's greatest guitarists, still plays some 100 shows a year but he stopped a performance in Chicago on October 3 and was diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion.     BB King , who recently turned 89, has had his share of problems continuing to play live in his very old age, so it's not that surprising that earlier this month this message was posted to his Facebook: Mr. King did not feel well enough to continue his performance last night, Oct 3, 2014, at the House of Blues in Chicago. He was immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be cancelled.

    It's about to be a happy homecoming for the tireless Americana bands of New Orleans! On Friday, October 17, locals Hurray for the Riff Raff, The Deslondes, Coyotes, MUSA, and others will take the stage at the Joy Theater for a free show after returning from a busy spring and summer of touring across the United States. The event is the first in a monthly series called "This Is NOLA," an effort by Winter Circle Productions and the Joy Theater to showcase the newest sights, tastes, and sounds of New Orleans.

    According to a post on his official website, the hard-touring bluesman, 89, canceled eight shows on his current performance schedule due to health troubles. King "fell ill" during a performance Friday night at the House of Blues in Chicago, after which he was "immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and ... exhaustion," the post said.
